Kick-off Workshop
In October 2021,
the kick-off Workshop organized
to set the vision for a mechanism for
nature-centric better urban life
The Workshop organized with a group of
multi-disciplinary people with the collaboration of CBA - Cafer Bozkurt Architecture Istanbul.
City Ecosystems Visioning Workshop
called "Redefining value systems for nature-centric new urban life".
The 2-day workshop helped to identified the vision of the Lab's roadmap, enabled shared understanding for key notions about cities, design, architecture, decision making, ecosystems restoration, innovation, business, information technologies and emerging DLT - Blockchain regarding to nature-based urban innovative solutions.

provided execution and reporting support for innovative project called
Play Marmara Sea
Play Marmara Sea is an analogue and digital serious game for synchronizing regional sustainability, environmental policy and applied research simultaneously
Play Marmara Sea is a multi-actor serious game on sustainable management of the wastewater in the Sea of Marmara through point and diffuse sources. Game focuses on the changes in marine water quality parameters and the marine ecosystem accordingly.
Play Marmara Sea has been specially prepared by Amsterdam based start-up Play the City, for the Marmara Urban Forum'21, with the support of Marmara Municipalities Union, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and Middle East Technical University Marine Sciences Institute.

CircularPSP project meeting
#circularPSP project Istanbul focus group meeting at ZeminIstanbul brought experts on circular economy together. εκοSystems Lab participated and contributed to the event together with hands on solution partners.
EU project CircularPSP aims to develop Circular Pre-commercial Service Procurement portal in 7 European nodes: Helsinki, Berlin, Guimaraes, Istanbul, and city unions from Sweden, Ireland, Slovenia.
CircularPSP is the acronym of "Public Service Platforms for Circular, Innovative and Resilient Municipalities through PCP (Pre Commercial Procurement)".
Hosted by IMM Department of Parks, Gardens and Green Areas and #Tages at ZeminIstanbul, the first living lap initiative of Istanbul at metropolitan scale.

is the motto of the Lab, seriously, playfully, wholeheartedly.
Sustainability is not the ultimate goal, but a bridge to pave the road to circularity; as how the Nature Works. The Sustainability Logic of εκοSystems Lab is linking multiple impact of circular actions with UN Sustainable Development Goals in place at micro scale. Instead of perceiving a cliche, or use as part of greenwashing PR relational and meaningfully measurable UN SDGs, have great potential to bridge the circular, regenerative future.

In order to start these chain reactions, with regenerative design principles of systems thinking, permaculture and community domains, the Lab develops and facilitates projects, initiatives, start ups, events, activities for nature-centric urban life in all around the world for everybody.
City ecosystems consists of natural and human ecosystems. εκοSystems Lab catalyses synergies between the networks of local inhabitants, local businesses, local services, startups, real estate developers, software developers’ ecosystems by:

εκοSystems Lab communicates knowledge for ecosystems restoration in cities, and aims to develop new generation ecological museum as the dynamic learning and knowledge centers monitor real-time data of regenerated ecosystems in cities.
